Cheltenham Center for the Arts presents "Clay Possibilities"

Cheltenham Center for the Arts presents "Clay Possibilities"- an invitational of artists working in clay from the greater Philadelphia Area, juried by resident artists Patti Nelson and Laura Demme. "Clay Possibilities" poses the question to artists of what is possible in the medium of clay? Philadelphia Area artists have risen to the challenge, investigating the naturally occurring tension that exists in the medium of clay between tradition and innovation. From firing to technique, "Clay Possibilities" pu

shes the viewer to expand the understanding of what clay can do and encourages us all to rethink "Clay Possibilities". Through December 10, 2012

What I've been making in my studio

The skirt was successfully loaded into the kiln with Bill's help, and will dry there, until I turn on the heat. It's full of holes for plants to grow through.
The persona who will wear the skirt has to dry for a couple weeks before a separate bisque.

patti,

do you think there is anyway i can do something with the dried flowers to keep the color. tomorrow i'll show you how beautiful they look in the procelain. however, they will burn out and all of the color with them. is there any treatment for the dried flowers that you can think of that would leave traces of the blues, pinks and purples???
